IDEAL NON-INVERTING OP AMP The ideal non-inverting OP Amp is shown in Figure 1 (a). FIGURE (1) Ideal OP Amp in non-inverting mode. Let us assume Vi = O. This means that the terminal 1 has the same potential as terminal 2, i.e., VS. So closed loop gain depends on the ratio R2/R1. Let us put R2 = 0 in Figure 1 (a). A, is equal to 1. In such a case R1 is not required. The final form of Figure 1 (a) is shown in Figure (B). It is called unity gain buffer or voltage follower as it has infinite (high) input resistance and unity gain.
